As we go through the topics, you’ll not only learn what you need to do, but you’ll also learn the rationale behind why these steps are important to take, including how assistive technologies will use the accessibility features you put in place.

Course Objective

After completing this course, you will:

  1. Know various assistive technologies your users may be using.
  2. Know how accessible technologies utilize the accessibility features you add to your content.
  3. Determine if an image needs alternative text, and if so, the best alternative text to provide based on the image’s purpose.
  4. Verify if color contrast ratios meet WCAG guidelines.
  5. Add an appropriate heading structure to your content.
  6. Know how to format hyperlinks and tables for accessibility.
  7. Verify the reading order of your content is correct.
  8. Identify considerations for making content keyboard accessible.
  9. Generate appropriate closed captions and audio descriptions.
